The Bakhtiyar Gallery ideally situated in the High Street of Stockbridge specialises in Persian hand-knotted carpets, runners and kelims and is a centre of excellence for Persian carpets. Masoud Mazaheri-Asadi comes from a family of three generations steeped in the history of Persian carpets and Diamond specialists. Currently his family are head of the Isfahan carpet guild which certainly gives him an advantage in finding extremely unusual and rare pieces as it gives him access to the Bazaars underground vaults which are only shown to a very few true professional families who have proved thier knowledge in this field over generations.

Masoud makes numerous trips back to his homeland, travelling over the vast regions of the Caspian Sea in the north down through the county of the south to Shiraz to collect pieces for the gallery and the London warehouse.
In the gallery a great diversity of carpets from Persia, including fine city pieces, large decorative and antique pieces along side smaller nomadic pieces.
When choosing the stock from the London Warehouse for the gallery Masoud looks at the craftsmanship involved, he regards carpets not merely as floor coverings but as works of art, time and care should be taken when selecting a carpet to fully appreciate the innumerable hours involved in producing it.
The Bakhtiyar gallery also designs and weaves carpets to commission, designs are prepared for approval and can incorporate the family crest and other personal symbols.
The gallery also offers an excellent cleaning, repair and valuation service, great care is taken to repair a carpet specific to its region and to the age of its wool, whether it be a small repair to a large restoration, the aim is to clean and restore it to its former glory.
