Bakhtiyar Bazaar From Concept to Reality

The idea of Bakhtiyar Bazaar started 6 months ago over breakfast whilst Masoud, Koroush & Darius were discussing the day ahead. Masoud mentioned the idea of creating a business where we could make Persian rugs, runners & kilims more accessible and appealing to a younger market and this idea lead to Bakhtiyar Bazaar being created.

Having recently opened on the 5th October the whole team has been extremely busy making sure everything was ready in time for a smooth and successful launch and we thought we would share with you the behind the scenes setup of our new bazaar.

The team started setting up early on Thursday morning, the paint having only just dried we where all a bit apprehensive with how everything would turn out and if we would be able to get everything done on time.

We started by selecting which pieces we thought would be best to adorn the walls and floors of the new bazaar and how they would fit and follow the theme of the shop.

The main concept of our store is to bring the essence and feel of the Persian Bazaar into the heart of the Test Valley, making the exciting and varied world of Persian rugs accessible to more people both young and old.

Exclusively stocked by internationally renowned Persian rug specialist Masoud Mazaheri using his years of experience, taste and expertise. The shop is stocked with a wide range of items at affordable prices, starting from as little as £35 for a hand-knotted Persian kilim.

Each piece in our new bazaar was carefully chosen, to be in keeping with the values of Bakhtiyar. Each piece being unique in its own regard with a gorgeous colour palette that Masoud is renowned for by international decorators.

Setup throughout the new bazaar took many hours with the team not finishing until the early hours of the Friday morning of the opening. The opening on Friday morning was a thoroughly enjoyable time welcoming new and old guests a like with Persian chai (tea) and biscuits and letting them fill their senses with the wonders of the Persian Bazaar.
